Wedding Weekend Venues a Few Hours from Montreal

Eight estates, manors and resorts in the Townships, the Laurentians and the Outaouais for a wedding that lasts all weekend.

A photographer's guide to destination-style wedding venues a few hours from Montreal, grouped by region.

Last reviewed and updated: October 2026

More and more Montreal couples are turning their wedding into a weekend: a welcome dinner on Friday, the wedding on Saturday, a long brunch on Sunday, all in one beautiful place a couple of hours from the city. It gives you real time with the people who travelled for you, and it feels like a destination wedding without leaving Quebec.

I am Cagdas Yoldas, a Montreal and Quebec wedding photographer, and I have photographed at every venue in this guide. They are grouped by region: the Eastern Townships, the Laurentians and the Outaouais. Distances, capacities and accommodation options change, so confirm the details with each venue.

Planning a Wedding Weekend

Rooms first. Find out how many guests can stay on-site or nearby before you fall in love with a property. It shapes everything else.

Transportation. Count on one to two hours or more from Montreal. A shuttle for the wedding day, and clear directions for everyone else, makes a big difference.

Plan the whole weekend, not just the day. Decide which events you will host at the property, and let your photographer know if you want the welcome evening or the morning after covered as well.

Wedding Weekend Venues in the Eastern Townships

Best for: A private estate weekend that feels like a shared retreat

Maison Bolton is a private countryside estate set across 244 acres of meadows, wooded trails and lakefront in Bolton-Ouest. Thoughtfully updated interiors, complete privacy and a permanent event tent that can host the ceremony, cocktails or reception make it ideal for a celebration that unfolds over several days.

Photographer's note: I photographed an editorial at Maison Bolton. The range of settings, from the tree-lined drive to the fields and the water, is remarkable for a single property.

Best for: A close-knit weekend in a historic manor with rooms on-site

Manoir Maplewood is a historic manor with accommodations on-site, privatized for one group at a time. It suits intimate and mid-sized weddings, and its residential feel makes a welcome gathering, the wedding and a relaxed morning after feel effortless.

Photographer's note: I photographed an editorial here. The gardens and the manor's individually designed rooms give plenty of variety without ever leaving the house.

Best for: A wine-country weekend with old-world drama

Château Ste-Agnès is a historic vineyard estate in Sutton with a Neo-Renaissance château, a Romanesque-style chapel, underground cellars and cobbled terraces overlooking the Appalachians. The village and the surrounding area offer accommodation and plenty to do for guests who arrive early.

Photographer's note: I have photographed at Château Ste-Agnès. Few places in Quebec combine this much architecture and landscape on one property.

Best for: A refined weekend where food and hospitality come first

StoneHaven Le Manoir is a restored historic hotel on Lac des Sables and a member of Relais & Châteaux. With rooms on-site, an Italian garden and a strong focus on gastronomy, guests can stay, dine and celebrate without getting back in the car.

Photographer's note: I have photographed at StoneHaven. The garden, interiors and lake views give a varied gallery while the property still feels intimate.

Best for: A private lakeside estate for a small wedding weekend

Manoir Davis is a century-old estate perched above Lac des Sables, with gardens, a lake-facing terrace and accommodations on-site. It is well suited to a welcome evening, the wedding day and a relaxed gathering the next morning.

Photographer's note: I have photographed a wedding and an editorial here. The lake view from the terrace is the setting everyone remembers.

Wedding Weekend Venues in the Outaouais

The Outaouais is the farthest region in this guide and closer to Ottawa than to Montreal, so plan guest travel early. In return, it offers some of the most dramatic settings in Quebec.

Best for: A full resort weekend for a larger guest list

On the Ottawa River, Fairmont Le Château Montebello is a historic resort set on a 300-acre property, with monumental log architecture, accommodations, dining, spa services and seasonal activities. Couples can choose from numerous indoor and outdoor event spaces, including ballrooms, terraces and a riverside ceremony setting.

Photographer's note: I have photographed a wedding at Château Montebello. Guests arrive and immediately feel they are somewhere special, and the river and forest give endless portrait options.

Le Belvédère, Wakefield

Best for: A clifftop wedding with panoramic views and a structured, all-inclusive experience

Le Belvédère is a purpose-built wedding venue near Wakefield, a short drive north of Ottawa, overlooking the Gatineau Hills. Its elevated terrace makes a breathtaking ceremony site, and the venue's package includes planning support, a final walkthrough and a menu tasting.

Photographer's note: I have photographed at Le Belvédère. Plan the ceremony around the season's sunset: the view is the whole point.

Best for: A playful, design-forward weekend with total privacy

In Low, Quebec, Le Peaches & Cream combines a contemporary event pavilion, an open-air ceremony space, a private villa and wide open countryside. Its look is more artistic and playful than a traditional country venue, and the ceremony, reception, overnight stay and next-day gatherings can all happen on the property.

Photographer's note: I have photographed at Le Peaches & Cream. The contrast between the curated interiors and the fields outside makes for a very distinctive gallery.
