Romantic Engagement Session in Quebec City
A couple who drove in from Montréal to see what the old city would give them for an afternoon.

An engagement session through the oldest fortified streets in North America, made for a couple who wanted European scenery without leaving Québec.
Quebec City is often called the most European-looking city in North America, and it earns the description. Sarah and Cedric travelled here from Montréal for their engagement session, curious what the old city would offer that home could not.
Why couples travel to Quebec City for an engagement session
The appeal is practical as much as romantic. Within a short walk you move between cobblestone lanes, seventeenth-century stone walls, painted shopfronts, staircases and the open view over the St. Lawrence. Very few North American cities give a couple that much variety without getting into a car, which means an engagement session here can feel unhurried rather than logistical.
Old Quebec is also compact enough that the light does much of the planning for you. The narrow streets of the lower town stay soft well into the afternoon, while the upper town opens out for the last hour before sunset.
What made this session work
Sarah wore a dress from Grass Fields, with makeup by Anaivi, and Cedric wore ASOS. Beyond the styling, what carried the afternoon was simply that the two of them were comfortable walking and talking rather than posing. That is usually the whole trick with an engagement session: keep moving, keep it conversational, and let the city fill in behind.
The session was later featured on Bajan Wed.
Planning your own Quebec City engagement session
Come early or come late; the middle of the day brings both the largest crowds and the hardest light. Allow around two hours, wear shoes you can cover ground in, and treat the session as a walk you happen to be photographed on rather than a shoot you have to perform for.
