Elopement Wedding In Athens, Greece

It was in August and it was my second time in Greece. To be honest, I wasn’t planning on going back to Greece again so soon. But you'll never know where your camera takes you when you are a photographer. The bride, Pelin, contacted me about her elopement in Athens, Greece a couple of months before their wedding. She is such a sweetheart. She was so relaxed, she didn’t worry much about the details… She just enjoyed her wedding day and had an awesome time!

Busra from Dugme Film and me arrived in Athens one day before the wedding. We had our private taxi driver all the time, thanks to our couple! If you have been to the Mediterranean region before, then you know how hot it is during August. On the first day in Athens, we had a chance to visit the city and shoot some details on a very hot day. We were basically all over the city, taking detail shots, and playing tourists from time to time. I have spent almost all of my life in the Mediterranean region. I have seen the colors of this region in Turkey and in Greece many many times. But every time I shoot something, the colors make me fall in love again. There is something special about this region.

Later on that first day, I went to see the couple at their private beach welcome party. It was a relaxed and fun time for everyone to unwind before the wedding. I also had my first mini couple session with the couple.

The wedding was the next day. When I enter a bride's room, it is usually a stressful place. But Pelin's room was such a relaxed and joyful place. The bridesmaids were so funny and they kept telling funny stories all day. Good times, good times! I love it when the laughter is all over the “getting ready” room. Pelin was absolutely gorgeous in her Jenny Packham wedding dress. I was hoping to spend more time shooting the couple but in the end, we ended up having a very quick and windy session just before the reception. The couple really didn't care about the wind messing their hair.
